Arthur Rimbaud Museum

Housed in the Vieux Moulin, an elegant 17th-century building set over the Meuse, the Arthur Rimbaud Museum traces the life and work of the poet, born in Charleville in 1854.

Getting there

By train: Charleville-Mézières station, a 15-minute walk away, on the banks of the Meuse.

History

The Vieux Moulin (Old Mill), built in 1626 by Clément Métezeau opposite the Porte de France, was converted into the Rimbaud museum in 1969.

Culture & stories

Manuscripts, letters, photographs taken by Rimbaud in Africa and rare editions are on display.
