Privacy policy

Data controller
This website, visitgrandest.fr, is published in a personal capacity by an independent private individual (see the Legal notice), with no affiliation to any public, territorial or regional body. For any question about your personal data or the exercise of your rights: contact@cookiecat.fr.
This policy explains what data is processed when you use the Site, for what purpose, on what legal basis, and how to exercise your rights in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).
General principle: data minimisation
The Site does not collect any personal data for commercial purposes and requires neither registration nor a newsletter subscription. The vast majority of features work without any data being sent to a server: your information stays in your browser.
Trip planner (local storage)
Your trip planner (“My list”), your confirmed visits, your achievements and your preferences (for example, the assistant's guide) are saved locally in your browser using localStorage technology. This data does not leave your device unless you create an account, and remains under your control: you can erase it at any time by clearing the Site's data in your browser.
Account and cloud synchronisation (optional)
If — and only if — you choose to create an account, the following data is processed in order to synchronise your planner across your devices: your email address (or your Google identifier if you use Google sign-in), an optional username, and the content of your planner (saved places and activities, visits, achievements).
This data is hosted via the Firebase service, provided by Google, which acts as a data processor. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, given by voluntarily creating the account.
Retention period: this data is kept for as long as your account exists. You may at any time erase your online backup or permanently delete your account (and the associated data) from your Account page.
Geolocation
The “Nearby tool” feature (Map page) and the location feature on your planner's map use your browser's geolocation, only after your explicit permission. Your position is processed locally and in real time to show what is around you; it is not sent to a server, stored, or linked to your planner or your account. You may withdraw this permission at any time in your browser settings.
Third-party services and cookies
While you browse, third-party services may place cookies or trackers on your browser, subject to their own privacy policies: Google Analytics (audience measurement), Google AdSense (advertising), Stay22 (accommodation comparison) and Google Maps (maps and directions).
The maps use OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap: your browser contacts these services to display the base maps. The interactive base maps (Leaflet, OpenFreeMap, OpenStreetMap) and administrative boundaries (geo.api.gouv.fr) do not place cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, and manage your Google advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, port and object to the processing of your data. Data stored locally is under your direct control from your browser and your Account page.
To exercise these rights or for any question, contact: contact@cookiecat.fr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Site or to regulations. The applicable version is the one in force when you consult the Site.
