Musée de la Cour d’Or

In the heart of Metz, the Musée de la Cour d'Or unfolds 2,000 years of history — Gallo-Roman baths, a Gothic granary, medieval art and fine arts — on the site of the former palace of the kings of Austrasia.

Getting there

By train: Metz station, a 15-minute walk away. Pedestrianised city centre.

History

Founded in 1839, the museum takes its name from the Carolingian palace that once stood here. It incorporates ancient remains unearthed on site.
