Unterlinden Museum
Housed in a former 13th-century Dominican convent, Colmar's Musée Unterlinden is one of the most visited museums in France, famous for the Isenheim Altarpiece.

By train: Colmar station, a 10-minute walk away. By car: car parks in central Colmar close by.
History
A masterpiece by Matthias Grünewald (1512–1516), the Isenheim Altarpiece is one of the major works of Western art. The museum was extended in 2015 by the architects Herzog & de Meuron.
Culture & stories
Beyond the altarpiece, the collections cover medieval art, the Rhenish Renaissance and modern art (Monet, Picasso, Soulages…).
