Hunspach

Voted France's “favourite village” in 2020 and listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, Hunspach charms with its white half-timbered houses, typical of the Outre-Forêt area.

Getting there

By car, north of Haguenau (about 45 min from Strasbourg). By train: Hunspach station on the Strasbourg–Wissembourg line.

History

A rural village in northern Alsace, Hunspach has kept its traditional farmhouses with spotless façades, some of which retain their characteristic bulging window panes.

Culture & stories

A timeless stop, to combine with the nearby Maginot Line (Schoenenbourg fort).
