Saint-Dizier
On the doorstep of Lac du Der, Saint-Dizier is a town of art and industry renowned for its Art Nouveau cast-iron ornaments, which once graced squares and gardens all over the world.
Getting there
By train: Saint-Dizier station. By car: N4/N67.
History
Besieged in 1544 by Emperor Charles V, the town put up a heroic resistance (the “soldiers of Saint-Dizier”). In the 19th century its foundries made its name.
