Château de Lunéville

Nicknamed the “Versailles of Lorraine”, the Château de Lunéville was the residence of the Dukes of Lorraine, surrounded by its formal French gardens, the Bosquets.

Getting there

By train: Lunéville station, a 10-minute walk away. By car: about 30 minutes from Nancy.

History

Built in the early 18th century by Germain Boffrand for Duke Leopold, it reached its heyday under Stanislas. Ravaged by fire in 2003, it is undergoing extensive restoration.

Main courtyard, chapel and extensive gardens; the château hosts exhibitions and events throughout the year.
