Basilica of Saint-Remi
One of the largest Romanesque churches in northern France, the Basilica of Saint-Remi houses the tomb of Saint Remi, the bishop who baptised Clovis. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Getting there
By train: Reims station, then a 20-minute walk or the tram towards Saint-Remi.
History
Built from the 11th century onwards and later given a Gothic choir, it retains a majestic Romanesque nave and remarkable early stained glass.
Culture & stories
The monumental tomb of Saint Remi and the adjoining former abbey (Musée Saint-Remi) complete the visit.
