The village where General de Gaulle lived and is buried, Colombey-les-Deux-Églises is dominated by a vast 44 m Cross of Lorraine, erected in his memory in 1972.

By car: on the RN19, between Bar-sur-Aube and Chaumont.
History
De Gaulle settled at La Boisserie in 1934; he wrote his Memoirs there and died there in 1970. He is buried in the village cemetery, among the local people.
Culture & stories
The Charles de Gaulle Memorial, the La Boisserie house and the Cross of Lorraine together form a site of national remembrance.
