Downhill Skiing at Gérardmer – La Mauselaine

One of the largest downhill ski areas in the Vosges: some forty kilometres of forest runs, with the Famille Plus label, for all levels.

Overview

Just above Gérardmer, the La Mauselaine ski area has some forty kilometres of pistes cut through the fir trees. Its twenty-one interconnected runs offer varied terrain, from greens for your first turns to blacks. The resort even claims the longest descent in the massif. A six-seater detachable chairlift speeds up the ride uphill and cuts queues at busy times.

This is above all a family resort: the town has held the Famille Plus label since 2013. La Petite Mauselaine sector welcomes beginners with a free lift, a sledging area and snow games. A large fleet of snow cannons helps keep the pistes skiable when natural snow is slow to arrive. On some Saturdays during the school holidays, the pistes stay floodlit in the evening for night skiing to music. For a change from downhill skiing, snowshoe and ski-touring trails, plus a link to the Bas-Rupts cross-country area, can be reached from the site.
