Lac des Vieilles-Forges
Nestled in the Ardennes forest, Lac des Vieilles-Forges is a lake of around 150 hectares and a popular leisure spot for swimming, sailing and relaxing amid greenery.
Getting there
By car: Les Mazures, north-west of Charleville-Mézières (~30 min).
History
Created in the 20th century as a reservoir, it takes its name from the old forges that once worked the region's iron ore.
