Château de Haroué

A masterpiece by Germain Boffrand, the moated Château de Haroué displays its 18th-century architecture in grounds conceived as a calendar: 365 windows, 52 chimneys, 12 towers, 4 bridges.

Getting there

By car: Haroué, south of Nancy (about 40 min). Combine with the Colline de Sion.

History

Built from 1720 to 1732 for the Prince of Beauvau-Craon, it long remained in the same family before joining the Centre des monuments nationaux.

Culture & stories

Period salons, ironwork by Jean Lamour and landscaped grounds are open to visitors — a jewel of Lorraine art.
